The collection contains seven photographs of a home believed to be "Soldier's Joy" built in 1783 for Colonel Samuel Jordan Cabell in northern Amherst (later Nelson) County, Va. With the collection is a letter from Wilkinson & Traylor, Richmond, Va., antiques dealers, to A.E. Rueff of Brooklyn, N.Y., describing the photographs and giving dimensions of the house and rooms.
